Welcome aboard the M/V Islander for your 3½ hour Puffins, Lighthouses and Seabirds trip, leaving daily from the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel (119 Eden St.) in Bar Harbor, Maine. See the highlights of our beautiful coast including Mark Island, Petit Manan and Egg Rock Lighthouses. Hear the stories of the brave men and women who settled and cared for this rocky coastline, and be entertained as our professional naturalist points out seabirds and mammals only seen offshore.
Some of the birds often seen on this tour include puffins, razorbills, murres, guillemots, shearwaters, terns, gulls, jaegers, various raptors, ducks, and waders. Don’t worry if you’re not a professional birder. Our crew can assist birdwatchers of all skill levels. Bird sightings do change with the seasons.
This trip includes an extended viewing of Petit Manan Lighthouse on one of only seven islands in Maine where endangered Atlantic puffins nest. Experience the majestic scenery of Schoodic Peninsula as well as part of the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Join us for the opportunity to see the wonderful wildlife and breathtaking views of the coast of Maine.
